They're comfortable, very light, and provide great grip on slippery rocks.Hence the characterization as delightful. On the other hand, after one season of use they are falling apart. Apparently the flip side of their light weight is that they are in fact lightweight, almost to the point of being flimsy. Therefore the reference to their being diaphanous. In my book, however, delight trumps diaphanousness (this really is a word, I looked it up). I just bought a new pair to use while the originals are being repaired. This way I can keep fishing even when the shoes are in the shop. On this basis, four stars. If you prize durability, buy something else. |
