| 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful  It holds water....thats about it., By Bob Johnson "Jack" (Texas) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Blanket Covered GI Style 2 Quart Desert Canteen (Toy) I lugged this around in my backpack for 4 weeks during geology field camp in the desert as a backup to my camelbak.It is constructed of plastic, holds 2 quarts of water, and doesn't spill easily. However, it isn't quite as strong as it looks, and ended up with a big dent on the aluminum-looking (actually plastic) ring. The fabric on the sides is a cheap felt, not the burlap one would expect. As a result, it frays just handling it, and the cooling effect when wet, while it does work, is not as good as real burlap. I give it three stars because it worked and did not break when dropped. However, it needs an O-ring in the lid, and needs better fabric on the sides. But, if I were buying another one that was going to get hard use, I'd buy something more made just for that. |
