I did not have that problem at all. Right out of the box the table top was ready to be used.The quality of the product its good but not excellent. I say this because the top feels more like a giant mouse pad rather than a real poker table top. But I rate this 5 stars because of it's portability, price, look and I really like the white outline. My table its 38 x 38 inches, very small for this top layout but I will share some pictures I took with my phone so you can see that with this table top you can make it work no problem.
