They are easy to put on and take off and offer great strobe sequences on the back and front to make sure people see you. I bought a Boomer headlight a few months ago from a bike store in town. Was looking for something bright and small, and it seemed to fit the bill. Worked all right for maybe two months, then it started periodically shutting itself off while I was riding (not ideal for a safety light). I tried new batteries - no luck. A bit later, the button stopped working - I can no longer shut the thing off. I have to take it apart and remove the batteries when not using it.Another minor gripe concerning the UI (from back in the days when it was working): when you click the button to toggle through the different flashing options (off, always-on, steady blinking, and I think something more erratic) the light responds with a couple of quick flashes meant, I think, to signal that it has acknowledged the button press. This makes for very clumsy mode selection. For instance, when you reach the OFF mode, it actually blinks a couple times before shutting off. I found myself over-running... Read more |
